When asked about the ability to consistently shoot objects as small as
baby aspirin, sometimes three at a time, from mid air, Frank had this to
say:
"God gave me the eyesight and the attitude, my parents put a bow in my
hand at an early age and the rest has been hard work. What you won't see
at my show is trick shooting, I've never enjoyed that term. It implies
something with smoke and mirrors. My show is what it is. Most days we
have a great time on stage and everything clicks. However once in a great
while it will take a few extra shots to get that baby aspirin. I usually
sign twice as many autographs at those shows for some reason. I guess
because then folks realize it really isn't trick shooting."
Frank would
like to acknowledge the following:
Kevin Stay at Mathews/Sky
Mark land at Muzzy
Bob Posey at Resistol
Hats
Mark Van Peursem at
Justin Boots
Shorty & Bobbi at
Shorty's
Caboy Hattery
The folks at Archery
Stand-By
The folks at Ezy Eye
Archery
And also the following:
"God, for the many gifts He has given me and the people he's blessed me
with, my wife Amanda and our son Gus, my parents (Pop has been my "Pit Crew"
since Day 1 and he's the best), my mother in law TT, and all my other family
and friends. Coach Leon McCoy was a hero as a teenager that encouraged me to
use my talents. The late Rev. Stacy Groscup was a huge influence and like a
second father to me, and the late Fred Bear was another good friend and huge
influence. I was lucky to have good heroes, role models and friends.
I had some regular assistants in the early days, and still do once in awhile
and they have all been a great help and have often provided comic relief:
Rob Parog tossed targets for almost 15 years and the audiences loved his
animal impersonations, Rob Ely was another funny assistant, Jerry Jarvis,
Joey Barth, Rev. Frank "Padre" Frye, Jake Chapman, and lately Sam "Sam I Am"
Hughart has been my sidekick. Each of these sidekicks have been great help.
I'd like to also thank Chuck "Woodrow" Adams, Ted Nugent, Gary Bogner, and
Dr. Warren Strickland for their friendship. Dick & Carol Mauch, Sherwood
Schoch, Dick Lattimer, Mr. & Mrs. Gary Symonds, Ann Hoyt & Ann Clark, Joe
Johnston, Erik Dally, Jim Wynne, Mike Luper, Brad Treu, Kevin Stay, Art,
Bob, and everyone at Mathews Archery, Jim Easton, Bill "Bearcrazy" Weisner,
Tony Dukes, Michelle at Muzzy, MR James, Margerite Groscup, Dave Staples,
Diane Miller, and all the other folks from the sport of archery. I'm sure
there are some names I have accidentally left out & I apologize.
I have enjoyed a role on the EXPO Tech Team for the Weatherby Foundation
International. My pal Dave Lockman does so much to promote the EXPO concept
across the country. Want more information on an EXPO or information on how
to get an EXPO in your state? To learn more about the Outdoor EXPO concept,
please visit:
www.WeatherbyFoundation.org or email Dave Lockman at:

Everytime I can I like to get down to South Texas to hang out with Butch
Thompson at the King Ranch, he's a great friend and good man. I know when
I'm in So Texas I'll get breakfast at Lydia's, plenty of WHAT A BURGERS, and
some great Mexican food. I also enjoy occasionally catching up with Dave
"Milo" Milam, Toby Keith's road manager. Dave always knows where to find the
best steak around.
Finally, I want to thank all the show promoters who book me, the assistants
these shows provide, and most of all the folks that keep coming out to see
the show. Support your local sport show, join organizations like the NRA,
your state bowhunting organization, and any other group that helps promote
our outdoor heritage. Our goal is to see that the next generation knows what
it's like to enjoy a morning on a trout stream with your grandpa, a Spring
Gobbler hunt with your dad, and a day with your parents spent hiking in the
mountains, and all the other hunting & fishing adventures that await you
outdoors.
Our son Gus had his first bow when he was 8 weeks old, a gift from the
Groscup family. Dave Staples also sent him a special bow. We all are looking
forward to the day he shoots his bow for the first time. I have a feeling he
may be a better shot than his dad....
